Question by LIV: Do you know any good beauty tips or secrets?
Hey teens! I was just wondering if you knew any beauty tips or secrets or even products that work great for you. It can be anything from the best shampoo, or how you do your hair, to tip for doing your nails or even for inner beauty such as how you relax after a long week! If you have anything like that I would love to know what they are, thanks!

More conditioner and a little less shampoo. It makes your hair softer
or at least mie lol.
-Drinking water.
-Drinking tea.
-Sleeping well.
-Surrounding myself with positive things.
-Taking care of myself so having good hygiene.
When my (naturally curly) hair gets really frizzy, I put a tiny bit of lotion on my hands and run it over the top of my hair. It smoothes out the frizzies and makes it smell good.
1) Wash your face with nothing but water. I’ve tried multiple soaps and face washes and the condition of my skin is much better when I just use plain ol’ water.
2) Remove your mascara with Vaseline! Take a small amount on your fingertip and rub it all over your mascara, then get tissue and wipe it off. It’s so quick and easy.
3) When conditioning your hair after shampooing, don’t apply conditioner to your roots. This way you’ll avoid your roots getting greasy for longer.
Drink water. If you must use makeup stick with those made from minerals. Use organic shampoo – it makes your hair softer, cleaner and doesn’t kill the environment. Don’t straighten or curl your hair – it gives it split ends and makes it frizz. Avoid chemicals at all costs – bad for you; bad for the environment.
my beauty tips/secrets:
- drink as much water as you can
- apply cocoa lotion all over your body every night, before going to sleep. (it will help you erase your scars, fade stretch lines or advoid them. also, keeps your skin smooth and it smells good)
- dont wash your hair everyday, and advoid the use of irons to straight it.
- foot lotion, and apply it every night.
- face lotions and soap (buy the one appropiate for your type of skin)
- have an 45 mins jog/walk every day… it makes you feel fit, it helps your sistem.
too much process, i know ! but in the end of the day, i feel beautiful.
This may be a little long, just a warning
HAIR:
The best thing for your hair is relaxation. I’m being super hypocritical when I say this, but don’t constantly blow-dry/straighten/curl your hair, otherwise it’ll get dry and frizzy. I naturally have very, very dry hair, and I blow-dry it almost every night. The other night, I decided not to blow-dry and straighten it because it’s been really fried recently, but it dried frizzy and disgusting, because of how disturbed the natural curl was. So don’t heat style too often, otherwise your hair will no longer be nice, shiny, and generally healthy. Another trick: never brush your hair once you get out of the shower. This causes breakage and frizz. Instead, comb through it with your fingers or a wide-toothed comb and pat dry with a towel.
Another nice thing to do every now and then is to deep condition your hair. You can do this two ways: one is to buy an actual deep conditioner at your local drugstore/Sephora/beauty salon. The prices range depending on quality, but I’ve found that drugstore deep conditioners are just as good as anywhere else. You can buy one of those, leave it in, and wash it out, or you can do a DIY conditioning treatment. Depending on your hair type, grab a conditioner you don’t use very often (for this I use Dove Deep Moisture, and I use it especially for this, as I have dry hair) and apply it from roots to ends before I get in the shower. I let it sit for about five minutes or so, then I rinse it out, shampoo, and condition with my usual conditioner. I only do this once every two weeks or if my hair is acting up, though. It’s not an every day type thing.
PRODUCTS:
I really like the following beauty/skin/hair products. Here are some of my opinions and thoughts on these products.
Lee Stafford Poker Straight Shampoo/Conditioner – I’ve been using these since late March and I have to tell you, I love them. When I blow-dry, it makes my hair super smooth and easy to style, and it smells fantastic. I use about a dollop of each, as it comes in small packaging. The prices were really reasonable, I think it was a two-for-ten pounds thing at Boots. If you’re in the US, I’d order them off the Lee Stafford website.
Aveda Smooth Infusion Conditioner – I like this conditioner a lot. I bought it back in January, and I only use it once a week or so, but the results are stunning. It makes my frizzy, dry hair turn silky and smooth. I pair it with the original Aveda Shampoo and the results are great. I blow-dry when I use this, and if I don’t like it when I’m done blow-drying, I’ll straighten it as well. A bit pricey, around twenty pounds, but well worth it, as it comes in a huge bottle.
Two-Faced Smoky Eye Palette – Love this for creating the perfect smoky eye! In the palette, there are three categories: day smoky, fashion smoky, and classic smoky. It comes with little how-to cards on how to apply the eye-shadow to make your eye makeup look amazing! It was expensive, maybe 25 pounds, but for what you’re getting, it’s a great deal. Comes with two shadow brushes that are both relatively good quality. Great palette, use it quite often.
Hope I helped in your search for some good beauty products
I’ve also been recommended the CHI straightener, and am going to try it out!
-just put conditionder on the tips of your hair, not the roots. It’s makes it less greasier!
-when painting your nails paint your dominant hand first (I’m right handed so I paint my right hand first) When I first start painting my nails I’m always super focused so I always paint my left hand first so I have 2 good hands instead of one super good one and one sloppy one!
-use lotion to take off eye makeup
-put lotion in your hair to calm down friziness
-don’t wash your hair every day, the natural oils are heathy for your hair
-always feel confident! No matter what
Drink a lot of water to keep your hair healthy and your skin too!
Don’t wash your face with hot water; it’ll dry it out and possibly crack your skin.
